What You’ll Be Doing:
Position summary
The Quality Analyst will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining the quality of the client and vendor data received and processed in operational projects. The Data Quality Analyst will work closely with analysts, developers, and internal data and technical leads to understand the client / vendor data and develop the appropriate test plan, test cases and test schedule in support of data operations, driving quality assurance tasks and issue resolution.
Essential functions
  • Analyze and understand data sources and end-user requirements for loading healthcare data into enterprise data warehouse as it relates to eligibility, medical, pharmacy claims, as well as clinical and provider data.
  • Develop and execute SQL/SAS data quality test cases, scripts, and procedures to support the data quality metrics.
  • Resolve data quality problems. Activities include: Identify, assess, fix, document, and communicate potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used. This may involve interacting with business users to resolve data quality problems using techniques such as root cause analysis as well as collecting user requirements. Fixing the data problem may require the DQA to recommend, design, implement and monitor quality procedures for use in the data production process. It may also include data cleansing operations such as removing duplicate records.
  • Manage data quality documentation. Activities include: Define and maintain data standards, definitions, and models (e.g. data dictionary, organizational data model. This may also include any DQA documents such as checklists, guidelines, manuals, templates, forms, etc.)
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and development or improvement task forces. Assist other groups in database setup, design of edit checks, test plans, DQ policy decisions, etc. to ensure data quality objectives are met.
  • Track defects to resolution.
Skill Set Requirements
  • Experience in converting mapping documents and transformation requirements into a testing strategy, test cases and test data
  • Experience creating SQL/SAS QA checks to test data integration and data transformation
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and industry
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills to present findings and recommendations
  • Should be detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills and understand benefits of data quality
Mandatory skill

  • Requires BE/B. Tech degree or equivalent, 4+ years quality assurance experience, which includes skills necessary to work with computer systems, knowledge of data manipulation tools and analysis techniques
  • 3+ years of advanced SQL skills to write queries and view/test data in relational database
Preferred skills
  • US Healthcare Insurance Domain
  • Experience with ETL processes using ETL tools
  • 2+ years of experience in writing/executing test scripts in SAS.
Mandatory Requirements:
Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
