This position is for SCIEX team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, Sciex and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Singapore. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K.

Position Description :

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Associate Engineering Manager Software Automation QA to enhance the development of our mass spectrometry systems. The candidate will contribute to the success of our customers by ensuring SCIEX provides the most innovative, reliable and accurate Mass Spectrometry products .

The Engineering Manager: Software Automation QA will belong to the R&D organization and will lead a team of automation test engineers to ensure the highest product quality, on-time delivery and that standard QA practices are adhered to.

You will have the opportunity to build new teams and mentor them to become highly efficient in what they do with product quality and on-time product delivery. You will work with a globally distributed Agile team in a fast- paced environment. Your team members will be located in Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the development teams in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities :

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

Lead a team of automation test engineers to ensure the highest product quality, on-time delivery and that standard QA practices are adhered to.

Understand how all elements of the applications and systems will work together and developing QA approaches that fit the overall strategy.

Develop new and adapt existing Test Automation and Regression Testing strategies.

Assess the fit of available manual scripts to be used as a base for automation. Identify gaps and address them to make the automation worthy.

Be comfortable with details and when required be hands-on to make sure the delivery expectations are met.

Organize the team and implement development processes to continuously deliver on time with high efficiency.

Exercise comprehensive understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Quality Assurance concepts, metrics and documentation standards

Engage with appropriate cross functional stakeholders at other SCIEX sites, technical leaders and executives to communicate projects status, bring up issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making

Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including, hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.

Identify right 3rd party software components/frameworks to be used in existing software automation systems

Work with geographically distributed teams while maintaining highest standards in collaboration and communication.

Readily accepts responsibility and accountability for project success and key decisions.

Key Requirement & Qualifications:

9 to 12 years of experience with full cycle application development (Full SDLC experience: architecture, design, development, delivery, etc.) and proven leadership in delivering high impact programs.

At least 2 years of experience in managing QA teams.

Thorough understanding of testing strategies, including automated, manual, and performance testing.

Familiar on Automation framework and should have worked for at least 3 years on automated test case development

Strong Computer Science fundamentals (knowledge on different Automation framework architecture)

Experience with Desktop applications development (C#, .NET) is an asset.

Continuous Integration and Automation testing experience.

Ability to drive the hiring process and nurture/mentor others in the team.

A can-do attitude in anticipating and resolving problems to help your team to achieve its goals.

Excellent communication skills with direct team members as well as external teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience in designing and developing reusable code frameworks, libraries, and components.

Willingness to travel as needed (up to 10%).

FDA regulated environment and healthcare informatics experience is an asset.
