Key Responsibilities:
- Website Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain WordPress websites, accurately converting mockups into fully functional websites, and creating new pages from scratch, using your own design sense when necessary.
- Plugin Management: Identify and implement the right WordPress plugins to meet specific project needs, and customize themes and plugins to match project requirements.
- Responsive Design: Ensure websites are responsive and provide a great user experience on all devices.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize websites for faster load times, better performance, and adherence to SEO best practices.
- Security and Updates: Keep websites secure and up-to-date, troubleshooting and fixing any issues that arise.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design and content teams to bring ideas to life, contributing your technical expertise to ensure the final product meets project goals.
What You Need to Know:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: Essential for building and maintaining websites.
- Strong Knowledge of WordPress Core, Themes, and Plugins: A deep understanding of how to customize and extend WordPress functionality.
- Backend Skills: Basic knowledge of PHP and MySQL for handling backend tasks.
- Website Hosting and Domain Management: Familiarity with hosting environments and domain management.
- SEO Principles: Understanding of SEO best practices to help improve site visibility.
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ability to ensure websites work seamlessly across different browsers.
- Research Skills: Strong research skills to identify and select high-quality plugins and tools.
- Design Sense: Ability to create visually appealing pages, even without designer input.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve root causes of issues rather than applying quick fixes.
- Web Fundamentals: A clear understanding of how the internet works at its core.
