The Data Analyst III works with Client Services staff to process and deliver data transfers, as well as execute data changes upon request. The Data Analyst III shows high attention to detail to ensure that data updates they conduct, as well as data transfers they output and deliver to our clients are of the utmost quality. The Data Analyst III may also have direct Data Analyst I/II reports who they will train and mentor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·*Demonstrates extreme attention to detail and organization in all aspects of work.

·*May be responsible for supervising Data Analyst I/II direct reports, providing feedback and training when needed, conducting formal performance evaluations of their reports on an annual basis.

·*Serves as an escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved directly by Data Analyst I/II reports or Client Service team members.

·*Reviews, provides feedback and approves Data Transfer Plans documents submitted to clients.

·*Responsible for executing data transfer requests per approved Data Transfer specifications by programming and executing both SQL and/or SAS queries against MS SQL Database to extract data for Data Transfers and Reports.

·*Delivers client-requested database transfer datasets upon request.

·*Responsible for executing data changes per request, either through backend database scripts or with the use of validated in-house Data Solution Tools.

·*Participates in meetings with appropriate Client Services and Technical Delivery team members as it relates to study implementation and maintenance.

  • Creates and executes Data Change Guides (DCGs) and determines corresponding risk/impact assessments.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for data change management, data transfer verification and risk/impact assessment documentation.
  • Monitors data collected across multiple databases when required.
  • May be called upon to verify data change requests.
  • May be called upon to verify content of client-requested database transfer datasets per approved Data Transfer specifications.
  • May organize and leads meetings with Data Analyst I/II/III team members to ensure they are trained and mentored as new processes and/or technology are planned and introduced.
  • Technical support after-hours, on-call time may be required at set intervals.
  • Participates in special data-related projects as needed.

Skills & Competencies

Education

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the data management field or in a related area.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), as well as Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/XP and the suite of Microsoft Office applications.
  • In-depth working knowledge of SAS programming.
  • Experience with standard data mining and data presentation techniques.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment with minimal direct supervision.

Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Must have excellent written communication skills, including the ability to effectively document procedures, processes and results.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills, as interaction with team members occurs daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines & multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and organization in all aspects of work.
  • Must have very strong skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be comfortable working with business users and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with SQL Queries is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GCP and 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus.
